...and the home of the brave.

As we approach the Fourth of July, it is important to remember what the true meaning of this important holiday is. Not only is it the number one BBQ day of the year, as I've just learned, it's the glorious day our land became a nation. Let us all celebrate with family and friends the freedom our soldiers fought for then and continue to fight for today.

I stumbled across this adorable stamp written by a child and couldn't resist. Sometimes it's the young ones who show us big kids what it's all about. It's a simple but so perfect quote, "One small fight can lead to war, but one small kiss can lead to peace." If we could all capture the true meaning of this little girl's words, our country would be unstoppable.

Here is a card I made, just so I could get this quote on paper. I'll probably end up sending it to my grandmother or something. More Independence cards will be made this week! Have a fantastic weekend!

Go Braves!

For my birthday, Jimmy and I drove to Atlanta, GA to watch a Braves games. Boy was it fun! Best birthday ever! We had Steak n' Shake, went to the mall, and saw the game! I was so sunburnt the next day it was unreal! I also got a Chipper Jones t-shirt! At Hobby Lobby today, they had really cute baseball paper so I got some to make him a thank you card just for coming along and making my birthday so special.

Here it is!

Dad's Day!

Dads are the foundation of a family and deserve only the best! Who doesn't love their daddy? Like most girls, I'm a daddy's little girl. My dad, growing up and even now, would do anything for me. Number one thing I love my daddy for: helping me in school. Staying up till 2 am helping me with my drafting for three quarters in a row shows a lot! I love my dad! Show your dad you love him too! Buy a card or make a handmade one yourself!

Here's the one I made my dad!

Here's another daddy's day card I made for someone! Both are $5.50.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Daddy's Day Weekend!

Admitting I'm Indecisive

I decided to change the layout once again. I think I'm okay with this title and these colors, at least for now. Not so much card making recently; too much school work and family problems. I need simply one day to lock myself in my craft room and go at it - cards, decor, bags, etc. My next project is converting an old jewelry cabinet into a perfume cabinet. Will post before pictures soon. :)

30 Year Anniversary

Today is my lovely parent's 30th Anniversary. Along with their card, was a gift card to Outback and my mom's favorite lotion. Simple but sweet.

New Challenge!

I already challenged myself to find a reason to cut every single icon on each cartridge. This flower is made up of multiple hearts and only attaching it in the middle lets the rest freely hang. I love this new idea. This birthday card was for my grandmother who loves gardening! What better way to show it than a flower made of hearts!

Friend Card

I love giving gifts especially unexpected ones! I made this card for a good friend of mine for no reason but to express how much I appreciated her. There's so many icons I have yet to cut on my machine and this flower was one of them! I love this one so much and I'm going to challenge myself to use the rest of them!
